Search for missing man called off after he was located deceased: RCMP
B.C. INTERIOR – An RCMP spokesperson in B.C.’s Interior now says the 32-year-old man who was the subject of a regional search and rescue effort earlier this week has been sadly located deceased.
Constable Ryder Birtwistle says the 32-year-old man, Mitchell Gowing was reported missing to the RCMP on Wednesday, June 10. He was subsequently located deceased on Saturday, June 13 in Lake Country.
Police say they do not suspect any criminality at all, and the investigation has been turned over to the B.C. Coroners Service.
“The Lake Country RCMP wishes to thank the public for their assistance and extend their condolences to the family during this difficult time,” Cst. Birtwistle said.
