CHILLIWACK — Cole Bishop scored two goals to lead the Alberni Valley Bulldogs to a 4 – 1 victory over Chilliwack Saturday, evening the best-of-seven second-round BCHL series at one win apiece.

Bishop’s first goal came on a powerplay with three seconds remaining in the second period, sending Alberni Valley to the dressing room with a 2 – 1 lead. Bishop struck again on a powerplay in the third period with less than three minutes remaining to put the game out of reach.

Zeke Nicholson opened the scoring for the visiting Bulldogs with a shorthanded effort early in the second period and Jacob Terpstra completed the scoring in the final minute of the third period with an empty net goal.

Caleb Malhotra scored the lone goal for the Chiefs midway through the second period.

Ryder Shea was sharp in the Bulldogs net, stopping 39 of 40 shots while Quentin Million stopped 27 of the 30 shots fired at the Chilliwack net.

Due to ice refrigeration issues in Alberni Valley, games three and four of the series will be played in Nanaimo at Frank Crane Arena this week.
