MISSION – One of BC’s largest nighttime holiday parades is set for next Saturday in Mission.

The 39th edition of the Mission Candlelight Parade, hosted by the city’s chamber of commerce, will begin rolling down a two-kilometre stretch of First Avenue and the Lougheed Hwy at 6 p.m. on Dec. 7.

As many as 10,000 spectators have attended past parades which feature a competition between floats in four categories. Santa and Mrs. Claus will attend, as will various groups and businesses showcasing their services.

The city is alerting residents that parking will be limited in certain areas along First Avenue and Lougheed Hwy between Murray Street and Haig Street. Parking will also be prohibited on North Railway Avenue between Haig Street and Lougheed Hwy.
