CHILLIWACK — BC Transit is adding Christmas cheer to the Rotary Christmas Parade on Saturday (Nov. 30) in Chilliwack.

BC Transit says it will offer free transit service on November 30 to celebrate the event. It will add additional bus service on Route 51 Vedder to help get people to and from the parade on Saturday evening.

The parade will start at Chilliwack Secondary School on Yale Road at 5:30 p.m. It will wind its way to Wellington Avenue and then College Street where it will conclude at Young Road.

Road closures in the downtown area will be in effect from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. to provide a safe environment for the parade.

The Salvation Army says it will have volunteers along the parade route for its annual kettle campaign. Volunteers will be prepared to accept both cash and electronic donations.

The Chilliwack Rotary parade is sponsored by Mountainview Harley-Davidson and Mountainview Motorsports, with additional sponsorship from 89.5 JR Country.
