One dead, another injured in Langley shooting

LANGLEY — One man was killed and another was injured in an overnight shooting in Langley Friday (Aug. 2).

Langley RCMP say they received a report of gunshots in the 7000 block of 202 Street just after midnight. As officers were en route, another call came in reporting two men suffering from gunshot wounds at a local hospital. One of the men later succumbed to his injuries.

While the investigation is in the evidence-gathering phase, authorities have said they believe this to be an isolated incident. The area surrounding 202 Street was cordoned off and could be closed for a significant period as investigators work the scene.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called in and are working closely with the Langley RCMP.
