Nick Taylor Charity Classic at Cultus Lake Golf Course raises funds for great causes
CULTUS LAKE — It was a win-win on multiple fronts for participants of Thursday’s Nick Taylor Charity Classic at Cultus Lake Golf Course, sponsored by Algra Brothers.
Not only did Mother Nature cooperate with sunny skies and temperate weather, but attendees helped raise funds for Jumpstart, junior golf programs and endowment scholarships at the University of the Fraser Valley.
Taylor, the Abbotsford native who rose to fame with his dramatic 72-foot birdie putt to win the RBC Canadian Open in a playoff in June 2023, took part in the charitable event bearing his namesake. Fans got a pre-round meet-and-greet with Taylor before teeing off Thursday (Sept. 14), time at the Top Tracer golf simulation experience, lunch, dinner and a putting contest at Tap-Ins.
Sara Dzaman of Chilliwack’s 89.5 JR Country shared a picture of herself with Taylor accompanied by locals like Shanna Algra and Kara Bertram.
