No injuries after fire breaks out at Mission shelter Saturday afternoon

Update 7:15 p.m.: Mission Fire Rescue says the building received “significant damage”.
Mission Community Services Society has also confirmed that no injuries were reported as a result of the fire, and that all shelter guests have been relocated to temporary placements through the City of Mission and community partners.

Residents and staff are staying at a reception centre in the Mission Leisure Centre gym until BC Housing and MCSS secure an emergency housing plan.
