Two men in stolen truck try to steal a trailer, but crash into 3 other vehicles Tuesday in Langley
LANGLEY — Call it poetic justice or karma, but two men who were in a stolen truck and tried to steal a trailer Tuesday morning (Sept. 5) in Langley wound up crashing into three other vehicles.
Langley RCMP says it received a report shortly after 7 a.m. that suspects in a Chevy pick up truck were attempting to steal a trailer from a property in the 25100 block of 50 Avenue. Witnesses interrupted the attempted theft and the suspects fled colliding with the victim’s vehicle on the property.
As officers were responding, updates were called in advising the suspects were east on Robertson Crescent driving erratically. The truck was reported to be travelling at high rates of speed, not stopping at stop signs and colliding with other vehicles. The truck was located abandoned on the road at 264 Street and Robertson Crescent, Langley RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Craig van Herk said.
Witnesses said they witnessed the occupants run from the truck into the treed area along Robertson Crescent. Police describe this area as heavily wooded with thick undergrowth of brush and brambles with some marshy areas.
