AbbyPD stops over a dozen impaired drivers Friday night

ABBOTSFORD — Police in Abbotsford have removed a number of impaired drivers from local roads less than a day after an anti-impaired-driving campaign was launched in the city.

The Abbotsford Police Department says officers stopped 13 drivers overnight from Friday, June 27.

“Each one represents a serious risk to the safety of our community — and each one is a reminder of why proactive enforcement matters,” said AbbyPD. “Our officers remain fully committed to keeping Abbotsford roads safe, working 24-hours a day to identify and stop drivers who choose to get behind the wheel while impaired.”

So far this year, police have stopped over 500 impaired drivers and 223 excessive speeders.
