“I know what it means to lose freedom, and I know what it means to rebuild from nothing,” Nozamani says. “Chilliwack welcomed me, gave me opportunities, and allowed me to create a life I could never have imagined. I want to give back by helping build a city where everyone has a chance to succeed.”

Nozamani says her campaign will focus on practical solutions to some of Chilliwack’s most pressing challenges, including housing affordability, workforce development, economic opportunity, and supporting vulnerable residents. A key part of her community work has been creating pathways into the skilled trades.

Thanks to Love Without Borders and its housing initiatives, Nozamani says she has helped develop programs that train newcomers and other residents in construction skills while building tiny homes and other housing solutions for people facing hardship. Her underlying goal is to address labour shortages, create career opportunities, and help tackle housing challenges at the same time.

“My life has been about solving problems and bringing people together,” she says. “Whether it’s on a construction site, in the union movement, helping new Canadians settle here, or building housing projects, I’ve learned that real progress happens when people work together and focus on solutions rather than division.”

Nozamani says her experience as an immigrant, trades professional, community organizer, and small non-profit founder give her a unique perspective into the needs of working families, newcomers, and local businesses.

“Chilliwack is growing rapidly. We need leaders who understand both the opportunities and the challenges that growth brings,” she says. “I believe city hall should be accessible, transparent, and focused on improving everyday life for residents.”

Nozamani intends to launch her campaign with a series of community events and neighbourhood meetings in the coming days.

The municipal election will be held on Saturday, October 17.
