Motorist arrested for assaulting a Chilliwack RCMP officer after confrontation with police

CHILLIWACK – A motorist has been arrested following a traffic stop on Vedder Road in Chilliwack that turned unruly last weekend.
Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener told Fraser Valley Today in an email that a vehicle was observed driving outside of its lane on Vedder Road, leading to a roadside stop being initiated by an RCMP member, last Friday, August 14.
The driver exited the vehicle and a confrontation occurred between the driver and the officer.
Police say the driver was arrested for assaulting a police officer, uttering threats, and mischief.
