B.C. tracking 100 repeat property offenders in Fraser Valley with new program

FRASER VALLEY — The province is looking to combat repeat property crimes with the launch of a new program in the Lower Mainland.
Seven new hubs are expanding their reach of repeat offenders to help cut street disorder and business theft in B.C., with five of them centred around the Fraser Valley region.
Hubs from Chilliwack and Abbotsford to Langley and Maple Ridge are each set to monitor 25 people each as part of the Chronic Property Offending Intervention and Repeat Violent Offending Intervention initiatives.
“I’ve been touring communities throughout the province to hear directly from business owners and residents, and they’ve been clear they want stronger action,” said B.C. Community Safety Minister Terry Yung.
