Maple Ridge RCMP announces new officer-in-charge
MAPLE RIDGE — Mounties have now promoted an inspector to be the autonomous Maple Ridge detachment’s first-ever officer-in-charge.
The now-Superintendent Martin Guay has been with the RCMP for 20 years and has worked in a variety of roles across the organization, most recently as Operations Officer for the Maple Ridge RCMP in 2023.
His experience also includes serving as “E” Division Gold Commander for provincial wildfire and emergency responses, working in internal investigations, and as the LMD District Advisory Non-Commissioned Officer and the Sunshine Coast RCMP Detachment Commander.
“Being selected as the Detachment Commander for the Maple Ridge RCMP is a proud moment for me,” said Supt. Guay. “I’ve worked in this area for three years now and know just how special this community is.”
