Canada Post suspends mail delivery in Chilliwack due to inclement weather
CHILLIWACK — If you’re expecting a time-sensitive package or Christmas gift through Canada Post, you’ll need to wait just a little bit longer.
Canada Post issued a red delivery service alert at 11:29 a.m. Tuesday morning (Dec. 20) for the Fraser Valley, including Chilliwack, Abbotsford, and Mission, meaning it has suspended mail delivery for the day due to inclement weather and snow.
“A red service alert means that we are suspending delivery for the day and not sending our delivery agents out or recalling them,” Canada Post spokesperson Lisa Liu said in a news release.
The federal agency said delivery will resume once conditions improve and it’s safe to do so, stressing that the safety of our employees is its number one priority.
