CHILLIWACK — A power outage almost identical to this past Saturday’s outage is affecting approximately 2,734 customers in Chilliwack and Fairfield Island Wednesday afternoon (Dec. 14).

For the second time in four days, over 2,700 customers are without power.

B.C. Hydro wrote on Twitter and its website Wednesday afternoon (Dec. 14) at 2:54 p.m. that the outage is under investigation.

Downtown Chilliwack customers as well as those in Fairfield Island and west of Hope River Road have been without power since 2:42 p.m.

Crews have been assigned and B.C. Hydro says it expects to arrive by 3:55 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

A similar outage occurred this past Saturday (Dec. 10) in which 2,734 customers were affected. That outage was attributed to wires that were down. Power was restored within an hour and a half on Saturday.
