The Nutcracker returns to Chilliwack for holiday season

CHILLIWACK — A timeless ballet adventure of glitter and sugary frost is coming back to the Chilliwack Cultural Centre this holiday season.

Ballet Victoria’s “The Nutcracker” returns on December 20 at 7:30 p.m. to tell the story of a girl’s adventure in the Sugar Plum Fairy’s kingdom, accompanied by Tchaikovsky’s renowned score.

“Clara’s journey through the Land of Sweets with her Nutcracker Prince is a feast for the senses,” wrote the Centre in a release. “Combining classical ballet with contemporary twists, Ballet Victoria knows how to include moments of humour and wit to truly bring Clara’s magical journey to life in a whole new way.”

The Centre is also hosting a newly added matinee on December 21 at 2 p.m.
