CHILLIWACK — There’s been a groundswell of growing support for a planned bookstore on Luckakuck Way in Chilliwack.

Chilliwack resident Tera Procee tells Fraser Valley Today that a total of $170,000 has been raised for a Reformed bookstore at 45802 Luckakuck Way where Nick’s Lighting is currently located.

An event held on Thursday, November 6 in Chilliwack raised an additional $16,000, which is reflected in the above fundraising tally. They only need to raise an additional $35,000, Procee said.

They’ve also received 25 new expressions of interest from prospective volunteers.

Procee, a member of the steering committee behind the bookstore, says it could open in early 2026. It will be a satellite store opening under the board and management of Brantford, Ontario-based Reformed Book Services.

The bookstore will have 2,300 sq ft of retail space, as well as a 600-square foot mezzanine for study and meeting space.

A steering committee comprised of Chilliwack volunteers has been in conversation and planning mode since early 2025, Procee said, and secured a location there at 45802 Luckakuck Way.

Reformed Book Services is a Canadian charity that supports Reformed Christian reading, study and education.

Prior to Nick’s Lighting & Decor, a Christian bookstore named Verses formerly operated in the same space.
