Mission RCMP investigate two potentially-dangerous incidents involving 2 young boys

MISSION – Police in Mission say they investigated two potentially-dangerous situations caused by a pair of young boys, including one incident where a 4-year-old boy started his parents’ Cadillac Escalade and drove it into two parked cars.

Mission RCMP spokesperson Corporal Harrison Mohr says the two incidents were accidentally caused by young children on the same day. The first occurred last Friday morning, Sept. 18, when a seven-year-old boy located a small blow torch in his residence, connected a propane cylinder, and started a small fire inside his residence.

Corporal Mohr says firefighters from Mission Fire and Rescue Service attended and quickly put out the fire.

The second incident occurred later in the day on Friday evening, Sept. 18, when a four-year-old boy took the keys to his parents’ Cadillac Escalade SUV, entered it, and started the vehicle. The boy drove the Escalade into two nearby parked cars.
