As of September 2026, the gurdwara no longer appears on Google Maps at 44233 Keith Wilson Road.

In October 2025, the City of Chilliwack confirmed that 44233 Keith Wilson Road was within the Agricultural Land Reserve and was zoned for agricultural use, not religious assembly. City staff said in October 2025 that they were communicating with the property owners, discussing the provincial Agricultural Land Commission processes and the steps necessary to bring the property into compliance.

In the latest email update from city staff dated September 15, 2026, the owners of the property, in response to fines which have been issued, have committed to stopping all religious assembly uses on site and limiting people attending the property to those who reside on site and those attending language classes, which is a licensed home-based business. The city says bylaw enforcement staff have also been monitoring the property to ensure all traffic and parking bylaws are upheld to ensure community safety in the area.

“The City takes all complaints seriously, and strives to achieve voluntary compliance by working with property owners in accordance with Council’s policy. However, in cases where progress is not being made, fines are issued,” the city said in an emailed statement. “To help our enforcement process and ensure staff have all available information, members of the public are encouraged to contact our Planning Department directly at planning@chilliwack.com, or 604-793-2906 with any questions about our bylaw enforcement process, or with information and/or evidence which demonstrates the owners are not abiding by City or Provincial regulations. The information provided helps staff determine if, and when, additional fines are warranted.”

A neighbour on Unsworth Road previously told Fraser Valley Today in October 2025 that multiple large gatherings had taken place at the site, resulting in extensive on-street parking along Keith Wilson Road, including in the designated bike lane.

The neighbour told Fraser Valley Today in an email that nearby residents have raised concerns about safety and noise. He says police were called to attend a Diwali celebration due to parking violations and noise complaints.
