ABBOTSFORD – Police in Abbotsford say they’re aware of a video circulating on social media depicting a woman being recorded and confronted for dumping garbage into a waterway and a local park.

In a statement, AbbyPD spokesperson Sgt. Paul Walker says police are currently looking into these incidents and have reached out to individuals who posted the videos online as it tries to gain additional information.

Sgt. Walker says the two incidents are believed to have occurred in late July at Mill Lake Park and, more recently, near Bluejay Elementary School.

“Incidents of this nature are unacceptable and can have a significant impact on our parks, waterways, and community spaces,” Sgt. Walker said.

AbbyPD says it’s reminding anyone who witnesses incidents like these to report them directly to police as soon as possible by either calling our reports desk at 604-859-5225 or by text at 222973.

“Timely reporting helps to ensure relevant information can be gathered and appropriate follow-up can occur,” Sgt. Walker said.
