1 person deceased, 1 hospitalized after train strikes pickup truck: Maple Ridge RCMP
MAPLE RIDGE – Police in Maple Ridge say a woman has died, and a man was transported to hospital in critical condition, after a pickup truck was struck by a train Wednesday afternoon.
According to a statement from the Maple Ridge RCMP detachment, Mounties in Maple Ridge responded to a report of a motor vehicle incident involving a train in the 25700 block of Lougheed Highway at approximately 2 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 30).
At the scene, officers learned that a pickup truck was struck by a train in the area. The vehicle sustained significant damage and two individuals associated to the vehicle were located on scene.
Police say an adult female was pronounced deceased by BC Emergency Heath Services, and an adult male was transported to hospital in critical condition.
