Six-year-old boy from Chilliwack battling kidney cancer
CHILLIWACK – An online financial appeal has been launched to support a Chilliwack family whose youngest child was diagnosed with a form of kidney cancer just last week.
Parents Luke and Tamara Moore of Chilliwack received the grim news last Thursday, August 6 that their 6-year-old son Kane has been diagnosed with a Wilms tumour, a form of childhood kidney cancer. The news came after Kane experienced sporadic vomiting and a distended abdomen.

On Monday, August 10, Kane underwent a 7.5-hour surgery to remove the cancer along with his kidney, a procedure Kane’s aunt Angela Kloot described as challenging. The tumour has been sent for further testing so that his oncology team can move forward.
