Body of missing 13-year-old paddleboarder has been located at Cultus Lake

CHILLIWACK – Police in Chilliwack now say the body of the missing 13-year-old youth who went missing while paddleboarding over the weekend at Cultus Lake has been located.

Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener told Fraser Valley Today in an email that personnel from the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team located the body of the missing 13-year-old youth shortly before 2 p.m. on Monday afternoon, August 10.

Corporal Kiener says the investigation has now been turned over to the BC Coroner Service. 

“Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of the deceased,” said Cpl. Kiener. “This is a heartbreaking outcome, and we are deeply sorry for their loss.”
