Abbotsford trustee who opposed boys in girls sports and restrooms won’t seek another term

ABBOTSFORD – An Abbotsford trustee who was censured in 2025 by the Abbotsford School District for publicly opposing biological males in women’s and girls sports says he won’t seek another term.

Abbotsford Board of Education member Jared White announced over the weekend that he does not plan to run in the upcoming municipal election this fall, citing the censure he received after he posted to social media in February 2025 about an executive order issued by U.S. President Donald Trump banning biological males from girls sports.

“This past term has been difficult and stressful as I have been (and remain) disciplined and censured by the board for standing up for common sense conservative values. I am not done with this fight, not even close,” White said. “I am only 45 and have a lot more to give. But, for now, I believe it is best for my family that I take a break from this fight.”

White’s social media post from February 2025 stated the following: “No more biological males in women’s/girls sports. No more biological males in women’s/girls bathrooms and locker rooms. No more teaching vulnerable children that they can be both genders or neither. Enough. Common sense is making a come back and it’s about time.”
