Minimal growth on wildfires in Hemlock Valley area
HARRISON MILLS — The BC Wildfire Service says the two fires that sparked near Hemlock Valley this weekend have seen little change overnight.
V11496, located 25 kilometres northeast of Stave Falls, was discovered on Friday evening (Aug. 7) and sits at 15 hectares at the time of writing.
Its behaviour is currently at rank 1, a smouldering ground fire, with pockets of rank 2.
Helicopter bucketing operations are supporting firefighting efforts on the north and northeast, with heavy equipment on site to support the construction of control lines.
