City of Mission gears up for new automated curbside collection program

MISSION — Curbside customers are encouraged to pick the right cart size for their homes as the City of Mission prepares to launch its new automated collection system.

Starting in the first week of May 2027, the City’s new cart-based collection program will be launched to improve collection crew safety by cutting heavy lifting, help reduce litter and wildlife access, and match different households’ needs.

“The best investments are the ones that make everyday life easier for residents,” said Councillor Jag Gill. “These new curbside carts will deliver cleaner, easier, and more reliable service for residents today while helping keep costs down long term.”

Residents can view cart selections at a community pop-up or online through the City’s website.
