Suspect arrested in Maple Ridge shooting Tuesday evening

MAPLE RIDGE — Police say a suspect known to police has been arrested in relation to a recent shooting in Maple Ridge earlier this week.

On Tuesday evening, July 21, police were called to the 21600 block of Lougheed Highway for a report of shots fired and found a 32-year-old male victim suffering from serious injuries.

RCMP have since taken a 44-year-old man into custody without incident on Thursday.

The victim remains in hospital in stable condition.

Investigators have confirmed that the incident started from a fight between the alleged suspect and the victim, who both knew each other, and there is no risk to the public at this time.
