Former Harrison Hot Springs mayor eyes return to public service
HARRISON HOT SPRINGS – On a platform of greater transparency and building community trust, former Harrison Hot Springs mayor Ed Wood announced Wednesday morning that he’ll run for mayor in this fall’s municipal election.
Wood, who resigned as mayor in June 2024 after being elected in October 2022, released a brief statement to Fraser Valley Today Wednesday outlining his campaign priorities, of which community and transparency are paramount.
“My leadership philosophy remains grounded in public participation, public health and safety, smart development, environmental stewardship, and infrastructure resilience,” said Wood. “I believe that true governance begins with listening – not just hearing concerns, but integrating community insight into every decision. We build trust when we build together.”
He said he would release more information about his platform during the campaign period.
