Mission names upgraded lacrosse box in honour of late community coach
MISSION — The City of Mission’s latest project is recognizing a longtime coach whose impact continues to ripple through the local lacrosse community.
The upgraded outdoor lacrosse box at Centennial Park on Taulbut honours the late Brent Boutilier, who volunteered, coached and led generations of youth lacrosse players in Mission.
“This facility has been needed here for many years, and I am certain that Brent would be very pleased to see that we are providing an improved space for our youth,” said Mission Mayor Paul Horn.
“Brent was a special person who aimed to ensure that sports left young people with lifelong assets like confidence and teamwork skills. Now the young people he coached are passing on these same lessons.”
