Abbotsford driver fined after driving more than double speed limit in parents’ car

ABBOTSFORD — A young Abbotsford woman has received a ticket after speeding past a police car early this week.

On Monday evening, July 13, an unmarked AbbyPD traffic enforcement vehicle clocked the driver going 116 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone on Sumas Way.

Officers stopped her when she pulled into a grocery store parking lot to hand her a $483 fine and seized the vehicle – which was her parents’.

“Slowing down helps keep everyone safe on our roads,” said the Abbotsford Police Department.
