ABBOTSFORD – An Abbotsford teenager with a Class 7 N license learned the hard way that a high school parking lot is the wrong place to practice your automotive stunting skills, like launching over speed bumps, when students are nearby.

According to a statement from AbbyPD spokesperson Sgt. Paul Walker, police in Abbotsford received multiple reports of a vehicle speeding around corners and hurdling over speed bumps on the grounds of an undisclosed high school at lunch time. Police said students were walking throughout the parking lot around the time of the 18-year-old driver’s reckless shenanigans. The motorist just so happens to be a student at that same high school.

An officer from AbbyPD’s Youth Squad responded immediately and addressed the matter along with school staff. The driver was issued violation tickets for driving without due care and attention, failing to display his N decal, and having tinted windows.

“Spoiler alert: he’s also about to learn that unsafe driving comes with consequences—including the likely loss of his licence once it’s reviewed by the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles,” AbbyPD wrote. “Not exactly the time or place for automotive stunts.”
