Abbotsford man charged in assault on 70-year-old woman inside SkyTrain station
LOWER MAINLAND – A 39-year-old Abbotsford suspect has been charged for his alleged role after a 70-year-old woman was slashed in the leg with an edged weapon during an altercation inside a SkyTrain station in Burnaby last year.
According to a statement from Metro Vancouver Transit Police, three suspects were arrested by Metro Vancouver Transit Police after a woman was slashed at Metrotown SkyTrain Station in Burnaby in September 2025.
On Friday, September 5, 2025, just before noon, a physical altercation broke out inside the station. A 70-year-old woman, who was standing nearby and not involved in the dispute, was slashed in the leg with an edged weapon during the fight. The individuals who were involved in the fight then fled the scene.
Transit Police say two men and a woman were later arrested and two discarded weapons, believed to be involved, were recovered nearby.
