Chiefs earn their second win at home to tie the series at two.

The Chilliwack Chiefs and Prince George Spruce Kings were back at the Chilliwack Coliseum on Wednesday night for Game 4 of their second-round series. Coming off a 3-2 win, the Chiefs looked to keep their momentum going and tie the series up at two. Not only was it a big game for the series, but a special guest in the building added to the excitement in the air. Dave Tomlinson, colour commentator for the Vancouver Canucks and both a BCHL and NHL alumnus, stopped by to drop the puck, sign some autographs, and take in some playoff hockey as a Rogers brand ambassador.

As they have in each game of this series, Chilliwack opened the scoring. A power move towards the net by Arjun Bawa gave the Chiefs the 1-0 lead, which was increased to two in the middle frame with a goal by A.J. Schaaf. Prince George tallied one of their own to get within one before heading into the third period.

With the same 2-1 lead going into the final frame as the night before, the Chiefs hoped to have the same winning outcome. An early goal by Chiefs’ Koby Francis regained their two-goal lead. Tensions were high in the third as the teams’ growing disdain for each other kept the penalty boxes busy. Chilliwack stood their ground, only allowing the Spruce Kings five shots in the final frame, while tallying twelve of their own, and secured their win with an empty net goal by Reese Shaw in the last minute of play. David Di Girolamo had a great game in net for the Chiefs, allowing just one in the twenty-three shots he faced, with fourteen of those coming in the first period.

A statement Game 4 win by the Chilliwack Chiefs has the series tied at two as the teams head to Prince George for Game 5. Chilliwack will look to carry their momentum on the road and secure a road win before returning home for Game 6 at the Chilliwack Coliseum on Sunday, April 26th at 6 pm. Tickets for Game 6 will go on sale tomorrow morning, April 23rd. The team will need all the support they can get in Game 6. Be loud. Be proud. Be there.
