CHILLIWACK/ABBOTSFORD – Fraser Valley law firm Baker Newby LLP has welcomed its newest litigator from Abbotsford.

The law office with locations in Chilliwack and Abbotsford announced last week that Harleen Mann has joined the law firm.

Mann is an associate lawyer practicing in the areas of family law, construction litigation, civil litigation, and insolvency. She joined Baker Newby as an articling student in 2025 and was called to the bar in January 2026.

Born in Oliver, British Columbia, Mann moved to Surrey in 2013 before settling down in Abbotsford in 2015, where she now resides with her family.

Mann holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology with a Minor in Political Science. She earned her Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours from the University of Birmingham in 2023.

Harleen’s career trajectory has involved a wide range of work and community experiences. While studying at the University of the Fraser Valley, she volunteered as a youth mentor with the Abbotsford Police Department, served on the UFV Street Team, and supported young people through Big Brothers and Big Sisters. During law school, Mann gained practical work experience with the Crown Prosecution Service and was an active member of the Birmingham Law School Pro Bono Group, providing support to individuals navigating legal issues. Alongside her education, Ms. Mann has worked in a variety of roles, including management and customer-facing positions, which taught her how to communicate with different personalities, manage competing priorities and work effectively within a team.

“Ms. Mann is drawn to litigation for its problem-solving nature and the opportunity to meaningfully support clients through challenging situations,” Baker Newby LLP wrote online. “She approaches her work with care, attention to detail, and a practical mindset, while remaining mindful of the personal impact legal matters can carry.”

She is a current member of the Canadian Bar Association and South Asian Bar Association.

Baker Newby says Mann is pleased to assist clients and is fluent in Punjabi.
