CHILLIWACK — The Imagine High Integrated Arts and Technology Secondary school is closed on Tuesday (April 21) following a potential threat.

In a social media post, the school says it received a threat on Tuesday morning. “Out of an abundance of caution and in consultation with the RCMP, the school will be closed today,” says the post.

The facility will be closed to all students and staff while the situation is investigated.

The school says the safety of its students and staff is its top priority. It says more information will be released when it becomes available.

RCMP say officers remain at the school to assess and determine the credibility of the threat. Mounties say they are working closely with the Chilliwack School District and school officials in the investigation.

Imagine High is the latest B.C. school to fall victim to a threat. On March 2, Campbell River RCMP investigated a series of online threats at a local school. One day earlier, Vanderhoof RCMP investigated a threat to Nechako Valley Secondary School. The threats followed the tragic fatal shooting at a Tumbler Ridge school.
