Mission RCMP stop suspected drug dealer, aggressive shoplifters threatening store employees

Nov 30, 2025 | 8:51 AM

MISSION — Police in Mission have had their hands full last week with suspects who got their hands full of unauthorized items.

On November 19, at around 9 a.m., RCMP officers were conducting proactive patrols downtown when they spotted a suspected drug dealer getting into a car.

After pulling the vehicle over and arresting the occupants, police found one of them with various packages of suspected fentanyl, meth, cocaine and various pills, as well as other items consistent with drug trafficking.

The drugs have been seized, and the investigation is now pending lab analysis.

The same day, police responded to a report of a man causing a disturbance before allegedly stealing picture frames from the Mission library walls, claiming they were his. Officers couldn’t find the suspect, but about an hour later, a gas station staff member reported that he’d just been assaulted by a man trying to get into the store.

It was the same man from the library.

He was arrested for assault, with police recommending a charge. The now damaged picture frames have since been recovered, and the staff member was not seriously injured.

Police are also asking for witnesses to an aggressive shoplifting incident that occurred that weekend.

The first incident happened on November 22 at about 1:30 p.m., when a man and woman allegedly stole $800 worth of product, including steaks, a drink dispenser and sex toys.

When a manager tried to stop them, the man allegedly threatened them with a stun gun, but customers stepped in to help.

A male suspect also allegedly threatened to stab a store employee at a different grocery store the following day after being found with a number of stolen items. No injuries resulted, and the investigation is ongoing.

Customers who witnessed or assisted with the first incident are asked to speak with police by calling 604-826-7161 and quoting file number 25-14842.

Mission RCMP responded to 274 calls for service between November 17 and 23, according to this week’s Community Connection.
