CULTUS LAKE — Cultus Lake Park Board commissioners could finalize a draft financial plan at its next meeting in December that could see a slight increase in parking fees over the next five years.

According to a statement from Cultus Lake Park Chief Administrative Officer Joe Lamb, the five commissioner-park board gave first, second and third readings to the 2026-2030 draft Financial Plan on Wednesday evening Nov. 19.

The draft Financial Plan calls for a parking fee increase of 20 cents each year for the next five years.

Lamb confirmed to Fraser Valley Today that the current parking rates are $5.40 per hour on weekdays, $6.40 an hour on weekends and statutory holidays. The $2 infrastructure fee per transaction will remain in effect.

As part of the 2026-2030 draft Financial Plan, the rate for all parking passes could increase by 20 per cent.

The Cultus Lake Park Board expects to collect about $1,156,000 in parking and public area revenue in conjunction with its 2025 Financial Plan, and about $1,186,300 in similar revenue in the 2026 Financial Plan. By 2030, the park board expects to collect $1.3 mllion annually from parking and public area revenue.

Parking revenue is just one slice of the revenue pie for the park board. It receives funding from other sources like Sunnyside Campground fees (2026 projected revenue of $4.7 million in the 2025-2029 Financial Plan), commercial lease fees (2026 projected revenue of $917,485), residential leases (2026 projected revenue of $1.1 million), cabin rentals/visitor services and other revenue sources totaling $8.8 million for 2026.
