SURREY — A woman has been transported to hospital with injuries after shots were fired outside a home on 101B Avenue in Surrey Sunday night.

According to a statement from Surrey Police Service Staff Sergeant Lindsey Houghton, police say they were called to a report of possible shots fired outside a residence in the 12100 block of 101B Avenue in Surrey Sunday night at about 9:11 p.m.

SPS officers arrived and determined one person, an adult woman, inside had been injured. She was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Several other people were inside at the time and there were no other injuries.

S/Sgt. Houghton says police will be on scene throughout the day to examine the area for physical and digital evidence. At this early stage of the probe, the motive for the shots fired remains under investigation and investigators will be liaising with police partners to determine if there are any connections to other files. There have been no extortion-related links made at this time.
