Police seek suspect in sexual assault of 10-year-old in Surrey
SURREY — Surrey police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in relation to a sexual assault of a young girl nearly two months ago.
On September 17, at around 7:15 p.m., the 10-year-old victim was in a business in the 7100 block of 138 Street when an adult man came up to her, grabbed her buttocks and ran away.
Frontline members with the Surrey Police Service (SPS) were paged out to the scene at around 8 p.m., and the SPS Special Investigation Section has since taken charge of the investigation.
The suspect is described as a roughly 20- to 30-year-old man of unknown race, standing at 5’9” tall and wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt, dark coloured overalls, a light-coloured hat, a light-coloured cross-body bag and over-ear style headphones.
