Chilliwack-Hope MP Strahl encourages small businesses, non-profits to seek federal job funding
CHILLIWACK — Chilliwack-Hope MP Mark Strahl wants small businesses and non-profits with 50 or fewer full-time employees to seek federal funding to hire young Canadians in Chilliwack and the Fraser Valley.
In a statement, Strahl says he’s encouraging employers to apply for funding to hire young Canadians through the 2026 Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program.
“I encourage eligible employers to apply for funding through the Canada Summer Jobs program,” stated MP Strahl. “Both local employers and local students have benefited from this program in the past.”
Canada Summer Jobs offers wage subsidies to support employers to create high-quality summer work experiences for youth aged 15 to 30 years. Strahl says these jobs enable youth and young adults to gain the skills and experience they need to successfully join the workforce.
