ABBOTSFORD — The Abbotsford Police Department says a 29-year-old Abbotsford man is facing charges after they tried to execute a traffic stop on an uninsured vehicle over the weekend.

AbbyPD says its traffic officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop of a vehicle lacking proper insurance, but the driver opted to instead flee from police at high speeds, putting the community at risk. Officers deployed a spike belt to bring the fleeing vehicle to a stop.

Police say a 29–year-old Abbotsford man has been charged with flight from police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

“Fleeing from the police is criminal, and our officers are committed to holding drivers making poor choices on our roadways accountable,” AbbyPD said online.
