Record number of golfers raise over $110,000 at tournament for Fraser Valley hospitals

HARRISON MILLS — The Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation teamed up with presenting sponsor RBC Wealth Management Dominion Securities and enlisted the help of a record number of golfers to raise over $110,000 in support of Fraser Valley hospitals at its 8th annual Golfing Fore Your Hospitals tournament on Thursday, Sept. 7.

The event was held at Sandpiper Resort in Harrison Mills and attracted nearly 200 golfers.

“We had a record number of 196 golfers join us this year for a fabulous day of golf at Sandpiper Golf course in Harrison Mills,” said Leslie Gmur, fund development coordinator for FVHCF. “The day was filled with activities at all the holes from shooting a 400-yard shot with the golf cannon, a BBQ with the Quorum Group, to tastings from Roots & Wings Distillery. I am looking forward to planning our 9th annual tournament for September 4, 2024.”

The executive director of the foundation, which raises funds for vital equipment and programs funded or endorsed by Fraser Health, complimented the collaborative effort needed to pull off a tournament of this magnitude.

“We cannot thank everyone enough for all the hard work and support that you have given to the foundation over the years,” said Liz Harris, executive director of the FVHCF. “The planning committee, volunteers and foundation staff did an amazing job and we look forward to seeing everyone out next year.”
