Head-on collision in Abbotsford hospitalizes male and female with life-threatening injuries

ABBOTSFORD — A head-on collision involving two vehicles in Abbotsford Tuesday night has sent a male and female to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.

According to a statement from Abbotsford PD Constable Art Stele, media relations spokesperson for the department, AbbyPD patrol officers responded to the Lefeuvre Rand and Huntingdon Road intersection Tuesday night, Sept. 12 at 7:59 p.m., for a reported motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles that had collided head-on.

Once they arrived on scene, AbbyPD patrol members, along with members of the BC Ambulance Service and Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service, rendered aid to the drivers involved, a 49-year-old male and a 29-year-old female who were transported to hospital with serious and life-threatening injuries respectively.

The intersection was temporarily closed to the public as members of the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service attended and assisted investigators at the scene in determining factors that led to the event.
