Chilliwack Fire, RCMP, EMS respond to two-car crash at Vedder/Knight Saturday

CHILLIWACK — Chilliwack RCMP, Chilliwack Fire and BC Ambulance Service were dispatched to the intersection of Vedder Road and Knight Road in Sardis early Saturday morning after a two-car crash.

According to Chilliwack resident Mohit Bharadwaj, who attended the scene, police, fire and ambulance personnel responded for the report of a crash sometime after 12:30 a.m. Saturday, September 9.

Bharadwaj says he was sitting in the nearby Produce Gone Wild parking lot when the accident occurred.

There were two occupants in a red sedan car with a Washington license plate, Bharadwaj says.

Bharadwaj says witnesses reported that an SUV allegedly ran a red light and collided with a red four-door sedan, possibly a VW Jetta or VW Passat. This has not been confirmed by authorities.

One person was reportedly transported to hospital, according to Bharadwaj, who drives a taxi in Chilliwack and attended the scene. One person was allegedly arrested, according to Bharadwaj. This has not been confirmed by Chilliwack RCMP.

Wally’s Towing & Recovery attended the scene.

There were shattered remnants from one of the cars in the southbound lane of Vedder Road.
