Alcohol suspected in motorcycle crash Tuesday in Langley; driver hospitalized with serious injuries
LANGLEY — Langley RCMP believes alcohol played a role in a crash that sent the driver of a red motorcycle to hospital with serious injuries early Tuesday morning.
In a statement from Langley RCMP media relations officer Craig van Herk, Langley RCMP received reports of an impaired driver operating a red motorcycle in the 20300 block of Fraser Highway on Tuesday, Sept. 5 at just before 3 a.m. As officers were arriving to the area, a witness directed them to Logan Avenue near 200 Street where the driver was found lying on the side of the rode and a red motorcycle was in the ditch.
Emergency Health Services responded transported the driver to hospital with serious injuries. Logan Avenue between 200 and 204 Street remained closed for just over 6.5 hours Tuesday as Langley’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) attended to investigate.
The investigation is in its early stages and remains ongoing. Although all of the contributing factors have yet to be determined, alcohol is believed to be one of them.
