Tydel Foods to deliver Christmas dinners for Chilliwack residents in need

CHILLIWACK — Instead of putting her own Christmas wish list first a year ago, Brigida Crosbie was the catalyst for the distribution of 350 Christmas meals through her business, Tydel Foods, for Chilliwack residents who needed a little holiday cheer and some tangible assistance.

This Christmas, Brigida Crosbie is back at it again with the help of some wonderful community volunteers.

Crosbie will be cooking up ham and roast beef this Christmas and is putting out the call for meals for families, seniors and individuals in Chilliwack who truly need it.

There’s just one caveat. She needs to know by tomorrow (Tuesday, Dec. 13) if you’d like a Christmas meal.

“Community helping community!” Crosbie wrote on the Tydel Foods social media page. “Last Christmas our community came together to help make 350 meals that were all delivered behind closed doors to people in need.”

Due to rising inflation and higher costs at the grocery store, Crosbie believes the number of people she helped last year will be even higher in 2022.

“I have no doubt that this number will be a lot higher this year,” Crosbie wrote on the Tydel Foods Facebook page. ”

She invites Chilliwack residents to help out by donating mashed potatoes, gravy, any vegetables, stuffing, cranberry sauce, desserts (e.g., pies, cupcakes), buns and butter. Please note, all donated food must be cooked.

Crosbie notes gift bags of Christmas baking and cookies are also welcomed.

She anticipates that upwards of 500 residents will be receiving Christmas meals from December 15-22.

Tydel Foods can be reached by phone or text at 604-316-6015, or on their Facebook page under Tydel Foods. Tydel Foods is located at 45766 Patten Avenue, near the Starbucks on Yale Road, and across from the Locks Pharmacy building.
