HARRISON MILLS — Golf players have struck a hole-in-one with a record-breaking $155,000 raised at the 10th annual ‘Golfing ‘FORE’ Your Hospitals’ in Harrison Mills last month.

On September 4, 164 golfers and community members gathered at Sandpiper Resort for the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation’s (FVHCF) sold-out fundraiser.

Proceeds will go towards the roughly $500,000 purchase of an endoscopic ultrasound processor, which uses an ultrasound scope to diagnose lung cancer and other serious conditions, including gastrointestinal diseases in the pancreas and liver.

“The sold-out attendance, the beautiful setting, and the incredible generosity of our

sponsors and participants truly exceeded our expectations,” said FVHCF Executive Director Elizabeth Harris.

“The funds raised will make a tangible difference in the lives of patients and healthcare professionals throughout the Eastern Fraser Valley, bringing vital equipment and technology closer to home.”

The Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre will be home to the processor once it’s been bought.

A gala is set to be held on November 14 in Abbotsford to support the project. More information can be found online through the FVHCF’s website.
