UPDATE: Chilliwack RCMP say person of interest in serious assault has been ID’d

UPDATE: A spokesperson for the Chilliwack RCMP detachment says police now know the identity of a person of interest in an investigation into a serious assault at a Chilliwack nightclub earlier this month.

“Chilliwack RCMP would like to thank the public for their assistance with the media release published on May 25, 2026.  The unknown man involved in the assault investigation has been positively identified,” Cpl. Carmen Kiener said.

CHILLIWACK – Police in Chilliwack need help from the public in identifying a man after a serious assault occurred at a downtown nightclub earlier this month.

Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener says police were notified about an assault that occurred on Thursday, May 7, at approximately 11:45 p.m. at a night club on Main Street. The victim reported sustaining serious injuries as a result of the incident.

Corporal Kiener says investigators have obtained and reviewed video surveillance from the location and are looking to speak with a man which may assist in furthering the investigation.

The man is described as approximately 19 years old with a medium build. He was wearing a black T-shirt and black pants, black and white shoes, had black sunglasses on top of his head and had visible tattoos on his left forearm and the back of his left bicep.

Police are asking anyone who recognizes this individual, or who has information about the incident, to contact the Chilliwack RCMP and reference File # 2026-18901.
