BURNABY – Police in Burnaby are appealing to the public for help in identifying a male suspect who allegedly threatening another driver with a knife during a road rage incident.

Burnaby RCMP spokesperson Corporal Mike Kalanj says frontline officers were apprised on Sunday, April 19, 2026, about a road rage incident in which a victim told police they had been allegedly threatened verbally by another driver. The male suspect also allegedly made gestures during the encounter, which occurred on Boundary Road near Grandview Highway.

The victim was able to obtain limited photos before the suspect fled the area. There were also two passengers in the victim’s vehicle. At one point the suspect was close enough to attempt to open the passenger side door of the victim’s vehicle from his own seat several times, before producing a knife and making threatening comments.

Police say they have utilized several investigational steps but are now seeking help from the public in identifying the male suspect.

“Our actions and words have consequences, and nobody should have to go through what the victims in this incident went through,” said Cpl. Mike Kalanj with the Burnaby RCMP. “Please contact our investigators if you recognize the suspect or have any information.”

Police are asking anyone that can identify the suspect or has any information that can assist their investigators to contact Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999 and quote file number 2026-13301. Those wishing to remain anonymous may contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
