Abbotsford man arrested after open-carrying crossbow, threatening store workers Wednesday

ABBOTSFORD — Abbotsford police have arrested a man who was seen walking around with a crossbow earlier this week.

At 8:49 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 8), AbbyPD patrol officers responded to reports of a man carrying a weapon along Sumas Way near South Fraser Way.

Police quickly found and arrested a 47-year-old man who had a court-ordered ban from possessing any weapons, including a crossbow.

“Further investigation revealed that the same individual had threatened staff at a local store the previous day,” said the Abbotsford Police Department in a social media post.
